MY INTERESTS!

Furby!

I told you I like Furbies so I might as well tell you about them first.  Below  is a picture of Koh-koh's family. The top left black and white Furby is  Koh-koh.  She insisted that I point her out first.  The gray and pink one at the far right is Toh-loo!  The babies are Ay-ay and Loo-loo! I also have the Millennium Furby but he was too shy to appear in front of the camera.  (grin)  I have two Furby clocks that tell  the time and make a different remark every time they are petted.   And, I also have a bunch of the beanbag Furbies.  Am I obsessed? Nah! I've heard that Furby is coming back again this Fall and you can bet I will be one of the first ones in line.

Furbies  are just too cute! They are totally adorable and interact with each other.  It is really something to see. Just having one  doesn't show the range of their ability.  The babies interact differently, by themselves,  with each other, and with the adult Furby.  They play games and the adult Furby will teach the baby to sing and play hide and seek.  Although when the babies talk to each other they think "singing" means "burping".  Tooooo funny!

Well, it was bound to happen. They came out with a Shell Furby and naturally I had to pick one (or two) up.  Did I say Furby was tooo cute? Well, Shelby is a real hoot. Sassy little guys.  They talk to the baby Furbies rather well.  I'm having trouble getting them to talk to the Adult Furbies. I'll let ya know what happens. I just know you are going to worry about this for days. (grin)

The newest craze these days is Webkinz and I can certainly see why.  I just happened to buy a penquin stuffed animal for Christmas and had no idea what I would be getting into.  Anyone with a Webkinz pet knows exactly what I'm talking about.  If you are curious, please visit webkinz.com to see the "tour" and what they offer. This is Penny in her bedroom. She has a TV she can actually watch, a bed to sleep in, a scooter to ride. The 4 doors all lead to other rooms. If you are a Webkinz member, please feel to search for me under the user name of SandyakaFurby.

I've had various friends ask me to join Facebook over the past few years and I finally took the plunge about a month ago.  Good grief. They have games there too and it's a great way to keep in touch. Naturally my real life has totally taken a back seat to Facebook and in Farmtown, Farmville, and Yoville.  There are so many things to do there, that there aren't enough hours in the day.

Hummingbirds!

We have three feeders in our backyard in the summer.  Every May the hummingbirds come back to our area (Michigan).  It is so amazing how small they are; and, their "hum" (which is really the sound of their wings beating so fast) might make you think there is a bee near you. They stay in our area until late September and then take a long (about 3,000 miles) trip back to the South to spend Winter. The female raises her child(ren) in our back yard and it is just fun to watch them flying and eating at the feeders. They hover in one place and can hover upside down. They are comical to watch especially when another humming bird comes into "their territory". They will chase each other all over the place - flying way up into the sky and then dive to almost 3 inches off the ground. Kind of like watching an air show. You would think with three feeders in our yard that the birds wouldn't fight about it, but they consider an area "their territory" and all feeders belong to them alone.  When the baby is old enough to go to a feeder on its own, this is when you will see two hummers chasing each other away which I assume one of them is the mother keeping the intruder away long enough for her baby to get some food without interruption.  The other time you see chasing going on is when they are getting ready to head back South for the winter.  Then the "airshow" really takes off since they are feeding constantly in order to be able to make the trip. There are some interesting internet sites to learn more about these tiny "jewels". Try any search engine or click any of the following sites:

Lighthouses!

I love spending my time at the lake. Whether I am swimming, boating, fishing, taking a walk, or just lounging, the lake is the perfect place to be. I think spending time at the lake is the best way to unwind from a week of work and the daily grind.  Somehow, if I  spend enough time there, it clears my mind so I can think better.  It helps me to put everything in it's proper perspective. I suppose this is why some people meditate.  I love blue sky and crystal blue water, sand, green  trees and grass.  Can you tell throughout my website that blue and green are my favorite colors?

Anyway,  I guess it is only natural that I would be interested in Lighthouses because of my love for water.  I  collect  miniature lighthouses.  I think it would be fun to live in one, at least for awhile.

Television, Radio and such!

I enjoy science fiction shows/movies and I  used to spend a lot of time on internet sites discussing the X-Files or searching for information on the show.  I  enjoyed this show for the mythology and government conspiracy ideas.  I liked all the thought provoking discussions this show produced.

Another favorite show is Friends. I don't care how many times I see those reruns, they still make me laugh. This show had the best writers around. I miss all the great shows that used to be on that were as clever and cute as Friends.  Shows like MASH, Mary Tyler Moore, Mad About You and oh so many others.

I'm really enjoying the shows Ghost Whisperer, Medium,  Lost, Desperate Housewives and Dancing With The Stars. The Big Bang Theory sitcom started off dull but has really gotten to be a fun show to watch too. I liked House for the first few seasons but am totally bored with how just rude Dr. House has gotten to be.

My favorite music has always been Rock n Roll and many movie soundtracks. My favorite singers are Neil Diamond, Barbara Streisand and Julie Andrews.  I enjoy many types of music.  I used to be in Choir when I was in school and singing was my biggest passion while growing up.  I even joined the Sweet Adelines for a short period of time but I couldn't get used to singing without instruments in the background.

HotAirBalloons and other stuff!

I can't leave out my thrill at seeing hot air balloons in the sky.  I love to watch them floating by.  One of these days I may get up the courage to fly in one myself.  But, I won't hold my breath.  It is on my "to do" list though.

I love to read...mysteries mostly. I enjoy crocheting, woodworking, and making  crafts.  I used to love ice skating in the winter but haven't done it for years.  Now, I hate winter and sub-zero temperatures.  I much prefer the other three seasons and I love spending time at the lake or just working in my gardens.

I don't even know if I need to mention my passion for computers, the internet and my website. I'm having way too much fun with all of this. The internet is the most amazing thing ever invented. Where else can you learn so much and meet such great people from all over the world? No where! (grin)

Of course I love my cat. I have three pages dedicated just to them.

Well, I guess that takes care of the things I like and enjoy.  Now, if you are still awake, I hope you will wander around the rest of my site.
