Dear Lord, I thank You for this day.

I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning.

I'm blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God.

You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me.

Forgive me this day for I have sinned. I ask now for Your forgiveness.

Keep me safe from all danger and harm.

Let me start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude.

Let me make the best of each and every day and give my best in all that is put before me.

Clear my mind that I can hear from You.

Broaden my mind that I can accept all things.

Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over.

Let me continue to see sin through God's eyes and acknowledge it as evil.

And when I sin, let me repent, and confess with my mouth my wrong doing, and receive the forgiveness of God.

And when this world closes in on me, let me remember Jesus' example-to slip away and find a quiet place to pray.

It's the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits.

I know that when I can't pray, You listen to my heart.

Continue to use me to do Thy Will.

Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others.

Keep me strong that I may help the weak and unsaved.

Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others.

I pray for those that are lost and can't find their way.

I pray for those that are misjudged and misunderstood.

I pray for those who refuse to share a word from You.

I thank you that I believe.

I believe that God changes people and God changes things.

I pray for all my sisters and brothers.

For each and every family member in their households.

I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes, that they are out of debt & all their needs are met.

I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God.

Every Battle is in His hands for Him to fight.

I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees them and every mouth that confesses them willingly.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

I am a Christian

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I am saved"
I'm whispering "I was lost"
That is why I chose this way.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
And need someone to be my guide.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And pray for strength to carry on.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,

My flaws are all too visible,
But God believes I'm worth it.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
Which is why I speak His name.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority.
I only know I'm loved.

The Bend In the Road

When we feel we have nothing left to give
And we are sure that the "song has ended"--
When our day seems over and the shadows fall
And the darkness of night has descended.

Where can we go to find the strength
To valiantly keep on trying,
Where can we find the hand that will dry
The tears that the heart is crying--

There's but one place to go and that is to God
And, dropping all pretense and pride,
We can pour out our problems without restraint
And gain strength with Him at our side--

And together we stand at life's crossroads
And view what we think is the end,
But God has a much bigger vision
And He tells us it's only a bend--

For the road goes on and is smoother,
And the "pause in the song" is a "rest",
And the part that's unsung and unfinished
Is the sweetest and richest and best--

So rest and relax and grow stronger,
Let go and let God share your load,
Your work is not finished or ended,
You've just come to "a bend in the road."

By Helen Steiner Rice

Never take life for granted
Whatever comes your way,
Just grasp it in both hands
And enjoy it every day.

Sometimes sorrow comes your way
Blocking out the light,
That's the time to pray and
To know you'll win the fight.

Life is but a journey
Through mountains, hills and vales
We cannot have the sunshine
If we have no rain and gales.

So enjoy each precious moment,
And always give your best
Remember keep faith in God
Then you'll be truly blessed.

Don't Ever Forget
Your presence is a gift to the world,
You're unique and one of a kind.
Your life can be what you want it to be -
Take it one day at a time.
Count your blessings, not your troubles,
And you'll make it through what comes along.
Within you are so many answers,
Understand, have courage, be strong.
Don't put limits on yourself,
Your dreams are waiting to be realized.
Don't leave your important decisions to chance -
Reach for your peak, your goal, and your prize.
Nothing wastes more energy than worrying -
The longer a problem is carried, the heavier it gets.
Don't take things too seriously -
Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets.
Remember that a little love goes a long way -
Remember that a lot goes forever.
Remember that friendship is a wise investment,
Life's treasures are people... together.
Have health and hope and happiness,
Take the time to wish on a star.
And don't ever forget for even a day...
How very special YOU are!

THE ROAD TO SUCCESS IS NOT STRAIGHT THERE IS A CURVE CALLED FAILURE...

A LOOP CALLED CONFUSION...

SPEED BUMPS CALLED FRIENDS...

RED LIGHTS CALLED ENEMIES...

CAUTION LIGHTS CALLED FAMILY...

YOU WILL HAVE FLATS CALLED JOBS

BUT...

IF YOU HAVE A SPARE CALLED DETERMINATION...

AN ENGINE CALLED PERSEVERANCE...

INSURANCE CALLED FAITH...

A DRIVER CALLED JESUS...

YOU WILL MAKE IT TO A PLACE CALLED SUCCESS!

THE WORLD MAP

A father wanted to read the paper,
but was being bothered by his little daughter, Vanessa.
Finally, he tore a sheet out of his magazine,
on which was printed the map of the world.
Tearing it into small pieces,
he gave it to Vanessa, and said,
"Go into the other room and see if you can put this together."

After a few minutes,
Vanessa returned and
handed him the map correctly fitted together.
The father was surprised and asked
how she had finished so quickly.
"Oh," she said,
"on the other side of the paper is a picture of Jesus.
When I got Jesus in His place,
then the world came out all right."

God Will Carry You

The Lord will never leave us
nor forsake us.
He promised He'd be with us
through it all.
It often seems
He's walking right beside us
as He guides us through our problems,
large and small.
But there are times
we just can't feel His presence,
When the road's so rough,
we need Him all the more ~
We wonder why we're so alone and helpless,
Why His hand's not there to lead us as before...
But if we listen quietly,
He'll tell us,
"Take a moment
and remember what I said:
If you fail to see me

walking right beside you,
It's because I have you
in my arms instead ~
For together, we will cross
the highest mountain.
Together we will face the stormy sea,
You never are alone,
you're never helpless!
I'll carry you ~
let go and lean on me."

What Will Matter

Ready or not, someday it will all come to an end.

There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours, or days.

All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.

Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.

It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.

Your grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear.

So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will expire.

The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.

It won't matter where you came from, or on what side of the tracks you lived, at the end.

It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.

Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.

So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?

What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built; not what you got, but what you gave.

What will matter is not your success, but your significance.

What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.

What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.

What will matter is not your competence, but your character.

What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone.

What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you.

What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.

Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident. It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice.

Choose to live a life that matters.

The picture of Christ at the top of this page may be adopted. No link is required. This has always been my favorite picture. I once had it on a key chain with my car keys. When my car was hit in an accident many years ago, the key chain broke off and was found in my driver's seat. I believe I was being watched over. The same picture is on a huge billboard along the expressway about 30 miles from where I live. It has a beautiful white arch surrounding it and it is lit at night. It is a magnificent and very moving sight.

The  above prayer was sent to me in an email from a close friend.  She did not know where it came from originally, like many things on the internet. If this prayer was written by you, please let me know so I can give you credit.

Carol keeps making me Sandy Signatures. Isn't she sweet? Go check out her site. She has two - one is Embroidery and one is Awards. Very talented gal.

The midi file entitled "Just As I Am" is the ending song for every Billy Graham Crusade I have ever seen.  It is very moving and a special favorite of mine. I hope you like it too.
